Wendy's Open Mic Night Reviews

Kyoti King

Kyoti is a street musician who came to Wendy's Open Mic Night and sang his brand of country songs. His song, "Legalize It", based on the legalizing of pot, was a way of getting the crowd to clap along. He was once served a ticket for possession of pot in the parking lot of Java Joe's. Instead of paying the $50.00 fine, he went to court with the defense of marijuana for medical use for his chronic asthma. The case was thrown out of court. The last I heard, Kyoti was trying to get his pot back from the cops.

Julie Hawk

Julie Hawk is a young singer song writer who plays music from the heart. Her songs of life give a perspective of life from a sharp edge. She is witty on stage and can handle the audience well. Julie has a way of making you feel like you're a part of her show.

Sammy Lambert

Sammy is the court jester of Wendy's Open Mic Night. When Sammy first started coming to Wendy's Open Mic Night, he didn't know how to play guitar; he still doesn't know how to play guiter. He has the ability to come up with funny songs like the "Loan Ranger" and "The Haircut Store" which chronicle the life of the people of Ocean Beach. Sammy has lived on the streets of Ocean Beach for 26 years.

Kelly Hoyer

Kelly Hoyer was the first person at Wendy's Open Mic Night to get an encore for an extended set. Her cover song of "Who Will Save Your Soul" (Jewel/Poltz) brought people to their feet. Since then, she has been booked to perform at Java Joe's.
