In Memoriam

November 2, 2007 marks the 40-days of Jovencio “Ben” Gonzales who passed away 23 September 2007.

He was the eldest son of the late Guillermo “Emung” Gonzales Sr. and Paciencia “Pacing” Gonzales of San Pedro, Minalin. He was survived by his wife Gloria and daughters Olive, Rina, Marissa and Nina.

Not known to many, the late Ben was a militant journalist and a hard line radio announcer in Tarlac for almost two decades so much so that in 1985 he was physically abducted by Marcos military forces from his radio station booth while lambasting the excesses of the government.

Witty and articulate, he was the most sought-after master of ceremony in Tarlac during the 1986 snap presidential elections. Governor Mar Ocampo tapped him to join his staff in 1986 and he had been working in the Tarlac capitol since then in various capacities.

Let’s us offer prayers for the eternal repose of his soul.

As a single parent for more than 15 years, our father made many personal sacrifices for his children. Through trials and hardships he never once complained, relied on his Faith, and always found the good in the people he met. He was a very humble, and gentle soul who cared more for other's well-being than his own. His extreme kindness touched the many lives of others who we know will remember him for his loving warmth and compassion. We thank him for his always undying love to his family, his gift of humility and charity he passed on. We know he is finally at peace with the Lord, and we ask you to pray for the repose of his soul. We love you Dad!
