Some of you may not
have known me when I was in an alternative rock band in high school and
college. I was the guitarist and vocalist, Alan was our drummer, and
Cliff was our bass player. Cliff was an awesome funk bass player who
thumped those strings right outta the Crenshaw district. Most of you
who attended our parties heard a loud danceable sound influenced by
groups like Los Cruzados (formerly The Plugz), Gary Myrick and the
Figures, and The Untouchables, to name a few.
I've recently bought some new recording software, and unbeknownst to my
neighbors, I've been trying to quietly record some of my old songs late
at night. To hear one of my softer acoustic songs I just recorded, click on the picture above. It's called "Empty Gap." I almost completely nixed this old song, but my friend Oscar recently
convinced me that this song was worth saving. WARNING: This mp3 file is around 4 megs, so if you have dial-up, it may take quite some time to download. Hope you enjoy it!
