How to arrange and order your Video Slide Show1. Pick out the photographs and other mementos that capture the essence of your slide show. Each photograph will be shown from 3 to 7 seconds, depending on mood and music. A 15 minute show will need around 150 photographs -- that sounds a lot but it's amazing how they add up. For a surprise gift (to be shown at a party) photographs can be gathered from the intended guests. An example of a Video Slide Show might be a 50th Wedding Anniversary which would show the bride from baby to when she met her husband-to-be. A similar sequence would be shown for the 'groom. Following this would be pictures of the couple together followed by the wedding. Other sequences could show family and friends, and special times together. A school end-of-year banquet (theatre group, sports team, special programs) would show events from the school year. The children can get really involved in this, selecting and grouping the photographs, and choosing the music -- making it a project in itself. A wedding that hasn't been videotaped can be brought to life by having your still pictures put on video. Use your official photographs and ask your guests for copies of any photographs they may have taken. This way, you can enjoy every part of your wedding, from getting ready in the morning to coming home from your honeymoon, without having to pull out several albums. 2. Arrange the photographs into the order you want to show them. It helps, too, to group them into sections which can comprise of anything from 5 to 50 photographs. Make sure that each photograph or other item is clearly numbered on the back (use a felt-tip pen to avoid damaging the photographs). Normally, the important part of a photograph is obvious: However, on occasion it's necessary to let us know what (or who) is the subject of the picture. A Post-It note with a brief description helps. If you also want to include video clips (8mm, Hi-8, VHS, S-VHS or Beta) note on a separate piece of paper where they should be located.Video clips should be no more than 15 seconds. In order to identify the exact clip required, rewind your tape to the start, reset the counter to zero, then find the clip you want. Note the counter reading and write it on the video label along with a brief description of how the clip starts and ends. 3. Select the music you want to go with your Video Slide Show. Pick at least one title for each section of photographs. Very important -- for copyright reasons you MUST supply the music - either on cassette-tape or CD. Note on a separate piece of paper the music selection that goes with each photographic group.4. Titles of your choice will be added if desired. Sometimes a simple title at the end is adequate. A title might only have to state the name(s) of the video's subject and the date of the event. It may be used to convey a simple message. 5. Carefully pack everything in a strong container and send it to the address at the bottom of the page. It's suggested that you ship your package by Express Mail, FedEx or UPS. Please note that a $100 deposit must accompany your order. Items that should be in your package: 6. Ensure that you give us at least 4 weeks to complete and return your video. Rush requests can be considered, but please call first. |
