BEVERLY HILLS FOREST

1982 Serigraph, 41" x 38 1/8"

Secunda is an internationally renowned artist. His one man shows have been seen worldwide at such venues as: The Musee Reattu in Arles, France, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Chicago Art Institute and The National Gallery of Art in Washington D. C. He is known for his brilliant collages and striking graphics. J.M. Rouquette, Director of the Arles Museum, has said, "Secunda's collages make use of a very seductive, original, and somewhat mysterious technique in which the shredding of paper coincides with a very personal philosophy of color." During his career he has used and conquered the world of print-making, the use of oil, water color, ink wash, polyester assemblage and acrylic painting and assemblage. All of Secunda's experiments with art have been purposeful, adding to the great dimensions of his art history and the history of art.

Secunda's art incorporates new and incongruous shapes, forms and materials into beautiful statements of form and style. "The spirit of the landscape or the inner expression of a gesture is akin to discovering the beat' or soul in art," Secunda claims.
