NO MORE TAXES!!
We're already overtaxed from a massive federal budget deficit, the statewide $15 billion bond measure passed in March, greatly increased property assessments from greatly increased assessed valuations, school bonds, local bonds dealing with county employees' pensions and Fresno city infrastructure, etc., etc., etc.
Now, in a region with double-digit unemployment, we're being assaulted with a slew of new tax measures at the county level on next month's ballot.
There is certainly a value to libraries, tourism, and zoos. What we need to ask ourselves in a way we have never asked ourselves before is if we can find a cheaper and more neighbor-friendly way to get the amenities we want. Is it a value in our county to force our next-door neighbors to financially submit to our personal will against their own?
We will be adding information to this site on a regular basis throughout this month in order that you, the Fresno County voter, have an informed choice on Measures B, J, and Z on the November ballot. We doubt that you will find this information anywhere else, given the fact that our local media has, by and large, chosen to CAMPAIGN, rather than REPORT, on these measures.
We at the LPFC want a community enriched with economic and cultural bounty. We believe this is best achieved by the ingenuity and perspiration of individuals and organizations amongst us in a CONSENSUAL, not coercive, fashion. It is in that spirit that we oppose Measures B, J, and Z. We ask that you please do the same.
