Flight Instruction Private Pilot RatingOption #1:Prepaid flight training course $6700*This option includes 50 hours in a Diamond Eclipse (a two seat trainer). or Cessna 172 (four seater)($825 more), 35 hours of dual flight instruction, 20 hours ground training (not including instruction for the written test), Jeppesen Private Pilot Kit, and a Placerville Aviation T-shirt or cap.*You can pay 1/3 at the start, 1/3 at 12 hours, and the remaining 1/3 at 30 hours. If you leave the program at any time prior to completion, charges will be prorated to the fees listed in option #2. Students requiring more than 50 hours of flight time and/or more than 35 hours of flight instruction (most will), and/or 20 hours gound, will be charged at the current rate for those services, less 5%.Option #2Pay as you go:Aircraft Rental:Diamond Eclipse $89/hour, includes fuelCessna 172 $106/hour, includes fuelDual instruction, flight or ground $45/hour, and advanced instruction or in students own plane at $50. With either option, students should schedule 1 to 2 flights per week for best results.Federal Aviation Regulations require the following minimum* flight hours:Dual instruction 20 hoursSolo flight time 10 hoursTotal flight time 40 hours*Please note that the National average is 70 hours.
