3. Magical Events: Ring 38 member Tamaka is performing in KHAN JU LING, a Magical Odyssey based on the story of KHAN, who hears about the discovery of gold in California and comes to a new world fraught with danger and excitement. KHAN JU LING is a dream trilogy brilliantly performed by a talented Asian American cast. Through song and dance KHAN JU LING'S story unfolds, combining dazzling costumes, beautiful sets and special effects.
KHAN JU LING will be at the Chinese Culture Center, 750 Kearny Street, San Francisco, beginning April 10th and running through June 12th. For more Information (and Reservations), Call 415- 986-1822

4. Prestidigitation: Some members (and guests) presented magical effects:

Bob Kuhn - warmed up the audience with an amazing routine using a half dollar that would repeatedly vanish and reappear in his hand. He then shared the secret with the membership.
Visitor Dale Chung - attempted to penetrate a coin with a pen, but either the coin or the pen would vanish, and reappear in the most unlikely places (behind his knee, behind his ear, under his arm). The effect ended with the pen cap somehow ending up in his ear.
Bob Kuhn - demonstrated his version of "coins across" and ended by vanishing each coin, then producing a big coin, finally, a HUGE coin. He ended by finding a card signed by a spectator in his shoe!
Dennis Fox - attempted an experiment in homeopathic magic. Member Wes Kane drew an outline around Dennis's hand on a piece of paper, and scorched one of the fingers on the outline. Dennis then showed that a blister had formed on the indicated finger. He then rubbed the blister, and it vanished!
Visitor Michael Moll - requested that a spectator memorize a card from a packet taken from a shuffled deck, shuffle the packet, then replace the packet on top of the remainder of the deck. After a quick glance through the deck, he was able to locate the card by spelling down to it!
