Update March 15th, 1999 - This is one subject where I never find the time to accumulate the data on my family's background. To that extent I feel a sense of guilt. As we enter the new millennium, exciting new discoveries on DNA and medical procedures are taking place. In the future our descendants will be able to track their own DNA and code their genes, so that ensuing generations can cure genetic deficiencies inherited from their forebears. The more information they have on their ancestors, the more their doctors will be able to map-out their genetic problems. Also, with the advance of computers and the Internet, future generations will be able to keep a genealogical record of their family background quite simply.
I thought I would feature some basic links to help you begin a search for your own family background. Also, I will put out the call for someone really interested in Genealogy to step forward and help produce this subject for our web page. Here are some links; just click on the underlined titles below:
Social Security Death Index (SSDI) at Ancestry.com
Ancestry's Phone and Address Listings - Searchable database of names of people
Vital Records Information - United States
With the new format, I will be concentrating on linking to the most interesting sites for genealogy and family background. Give me a couple of months to get organized with the new setup for my web page>

One of the projects I want to get started is a listing of the best personal pages showing individual family genealogy pages. There is a lot of talent shown in this area and some of the home pages are remarkable in their quality. So lets get started. This will be a monthly feature.
Section Four - Personal Home Pages by Individuals
Here are some of sites of interest to me. Some sites stay strictly within their own family tree, while others seek to expand all the different branches of the family tree. The USGenWeb Project
This Web Site is a non-profit volunteer staffed project which provide Internet websites for genealogical research in every county and every state of the United States. The project is non-commercial and fully committed to free access for everyone.
Although the basic unit of organization for The USGenWeb Project is at the county level, state websites include very important info as well, including such resources as postings of unknown county queries, family reunion bulletin boards, state histories, and maps showing the changing county boundaries, among others. Many states also have ongoing projects as diverse as the transcription of Civil War regiments or the reuniting of families with lost photos, bibles, etc.
Now just go to new page below for above topics.
