click here for Las Vegas Gambling InformationIf you are planning a casino trip to Reno\Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, or Atlantic City pop me an email and I will give you latest info on best casinos for video poker play. One of the things I keep up on is the latest postings on video poker bulletin boards where regulars discuss, debate and mostly give the lastest info on payout schedules, comps, and other promotional info for the various cities. They also have some good dope on IRS regulations covering gambling winnings and losses.
One of things I like to do in order to get my mind off web pages, investments, and too much reading in general, is for us to jump in the car and drive the 200 miles to Reno or Lake Tahoe. We are lucky to live in an area that has so much to offer, so near to where we live. And, all the while, we reside in one of the world's most desirable places. When we want snow, it right there just up in the Sierra.
In my case, I like to get to Reno\Tahoe area once a month to get my Video Poker fix. Now I know what you'll thinking: "Aha, another gambling addict!" Wrong, absolutely wrong. I approach gambling strictly as amusement and that is how I play video poker. I stay strictly within my financial limits by confining my play to the level of machines that I can play comfortably. In my case, that's pretty much nickel and quarter machines. I play the quarter machines only if their maximum payout in LESS then 1,200.00(no income tax report required by casinos below 1,200.) I find I can play VP, with a little planning and money management, less than 50.00 a day. My record of results for The past year show my average cost at 32.00 for a total of 27 days (including two cruises.) Now that is using nickel and quarter machines and NOT playing maximum coins each time.
The other crucial factor in playing Video Poker machines is to know the "Payout Schedule." The main reason I play Video Poker is that I know how the machines are paying off. With other slot machines, I never know what the odds are? Being an old auditor, I don't like not knowing the odds. So, I stick to the Video Poker machines, mainly, and have a ball doing it. Just give me one or two days in Reno; and that's it. I am ready to come home.
Well, enough gabbing; the purpose of this sheet is to show basic data on payout schedules for all the various kinds of VP machines. So click on this sheet in the Travel Page to keep up with the latest data.

The bottom line for me is that I enjoy playing video poker for a few hours once a month or so. What I'm looking for is a machine that will let me play a while. So, I like the non-progressive Jacks or Better machines with a payout scedule of 9-6 for full houses and flushes. This machine is getting harder to find; most are no better than 8-5 for full houses and flushes.
I also like the crazy game of Dueces Wild\Joker Wild Machines with a full pay schedule. They can be a lot of fun.
I will go to the bonus machines occasionally. But limit my play on them to short periods. If the machines are not paying off, I will go back to my full pay machines or check out some of the other activities in town.
Those activities have got to include the floor shows and acts in Reno and Tahoe. Where can you get top stars at such bargain prices. Reno, Lake Tahoe and, of course, Las Vegas are a Mecca for stage shows and top acts.
