WHAT IS U.H.T. MILK?
U.H.T. is a premium quality Grade A milk. It has been specially processed and packaged so that it can by transported and stored without refrigeration.
 

WHAT DOES U.H.T. MEAN?
The letters U.H.T. stand for Ultra High Temperature. This means that the milk has been heated to 282 degrees and held for several seconds, then cooled to 70 degrees in a pressurized system. The milk is then packaged aseptically.
 

WHAT IS MEANT BY ASEPTIC PACKAGING?
Aseptic packaging means that after the milk has been sterilized it is packaged in such a way that no outside bacteria or contaminants can come into contact with the milk after it has gone through the U.H.T. process.
 

WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF U.H.T. MILK
U.H.T. milk can be stored for up to nine months if the freshest stocks have been shipped from the manufacturer. Once the milk has been opened it must immediately be refrigerated and then has the same refrigerated shelf life as non U.H.T. milk.
