How can I volunteer with Food Not Bombs?

Come to the serving at Cesar Chavez Plaza any Sunday at 1:30pm. You do not need to call ahead of time or arrange it in advance. Just show up at the park. Food Not Bombs serves every Sunday .

Where does Food Not Bombs serve?

Cesar Chavez Plaza is located in downtown Sacramento between 9th & 10th Streets and I and J Streets.

I can't make it on Sundays. Do you serve any other days?

No. Currently, we only serve on Sundays.

What if I want to help; but I don't want to serve, cook or clean?

There are many ways to volunteers with Food Not Bombs. You can pick up food donations, copy and/or distribute flyers, table at businesses or events or organize a fundraiser. Food Not Bombs is an all volunteer organization, so anything that needs to be done is done by volunteers.

I have food that I would like to donate. What should I do?

If you have vegan items that need to be prepared (produce, etc.) please contact us so we can arrange a good time for you to drop them off. If you have vegan food that can just be given away as is (packaged items, breads, etc.) bring it with you to hand out at the park on Sunday.

I would like to doante money to Food Not Bombs. Who should I make my check out to?

Checks can be made out to Davida Douglas and sent to: Food Not Bombs, PO Box 163126, Sacramento CA 95816. Or better yet, show up at the plaza and make a cash donation, or click on the "Pay Pal Donate" button at the bottom of the home page to donate using your credit card.

I am required to do community service. Can I do it at Food Not Bombs?

Many people do their required community service with Food Not Bombs. Check with whoever assinged you the community service and make sure this is an acceptable placement. If you would like to fulfill your community service requirment at Food Not Bombs, come down to park and help out.
