Chris Jacobi's professional home page

I am a computer scientist.  My professional interests include software security, programming languages, operating systems, user interfaces, computer aided design, multi-threading, ubiquitous computing and much more.

Currently I am a principal engineer at Arxan Corporation.

We are making tools to create tamper proof software.  In theory it is impossible to make software tamper proof.  But theory tells as well that the "halting problem" cannot be solved.  Theory and praxis are much further apart in praxis then they are in theory...

As much as I am concerned, I sometimes find even source code rather impenetrable.  I do have a lot of sympathy for the poor soul which tries to analyse not just binary code, but code which is well protected.

Previously I have worked at the Xerox PARC research center, and before that at ETH Zuerich.

My home e-mail address is:  jacobi@acm.org

I also have a rather boring personal home page
