Western medicine has found that the brain if not exercised,
will deteriorate as does the body. In many traditions in the East,
as one grew older, one was to take a greater interest in education and
spirituality. Today, seniors are going back to school learning new
tricks as the Western saying goes. Without learning and expanding
of the mind, the brain will digress. Alzheimer's disease is a disease
that appears to be slowed somewhat by continuing to learn.
These are some general rules for helping the brain to get its exercise:
-

one may not have been to some Ivy Tower type place, one can always contribute
to the greater good of humanity. |
