Season of Heat

Summer is the season of building.  The growing of the garden.  Eat lightly to avoid excess heat from foods, especially meats and to reduce any lingering wind symptoms from the spring.  Do the most during this season.  Exercise the most.  Express your sexuality freely.  The summer is the best season of the year for the expression of healthy attitudes for life and it wonders. The weather warms to hot.  With this change, we become susceptible to Summer Heat.  Those illness brought about by the humidity and food borne disorders such as sudden nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.  Keep your food clean and add mung bean sprouts to the salad on humid days. 

Any time that you have digestive upset, you can use the diet for the late summer.  This diet is a return to the central foundation of food and digestive action. 

  • May 6 – August 7 
  • Heart/Small Intestine 
  • Eat Summer Vegetables 
  • Drink room temperature fluids 
  • Drink Honey Suckle tea 
  • Cook at high heat for short time stir-fry 
  • Sprouts – esp. Mung beans 
  • Avoid eggs, meats, excess nuts and seeds
