Season of Cold

Winter is the season to act as if one has a secret.  Be easy on exercise and sex.  The weather turns cold and causes colds and coughs caught in the autumn to go deeper bringing greater sickness.  Eat meat as it is warming.  Avoid excess eating and drafts.  Ten days before and ten days after the Winter Solstice, avoid any activities. Spend your time resting and sleeping.  This is the most sensitive time of the year for health. 

Any time that you have digestive upset, you can use the diet for the late summer.  This diet is a return to the central foundation of food and digestive action. 

  • November 8 – February 3 
  • Kidney/Bladder 
  • Soups/Slow Cooked Meals 
  • Eat root vegetables 
  • Eat meat 
  • Use salt 
  • Avoid excess cold foods and drinks 
  • Drink Kidney Yang Tonic Tea
