Lloyd's Register of Shipping re: Marine Sulphur Queen

Above is a document of the Lloyd's Register of Shipping, dated 2 May 1969. The text may be difficult to read. It is the following:

Dear Sir:

With reference to previous correspondence, and your letter of the 22nd April in particular, I have made a "dummy run" investigating within the perameters of your enquiry from both ends of the time span. The basis of our interpretation of your requirements is the category of loss we call "Missing." During the period 1962 to 1967 inclusive, only one ship, the former T-2 tanker the "MARINE SULPHUR QUEEN", flying the American flag of 7,240 tons gross was posted as missing in this area. She had been converted to a molten sulphur carrier, with which she was loaded at the time, and was on her way from Beaumont to Norfolk, Virginia, when she disappeared in approximately latitude 26' 40º North longitude 88' 0º West on the 3rd February 1963. I remember this case well because of the dangerous constituency of the cargo and volatile gas given off (Hydrogen Sulphide). Doubtless you can find more from the government enquiry which was made into this case for there was considerable loss of life.

I investigated the years 1890 to 1893 inclusive and discovered forty seven cases of ships missing.
