Photo Notes
I shot 20 rolls of film on the two week trip. The animal close-ups
were taken with my big white Canon 100-400mm zoom lens. Most of these
shots were taken using autofocus and image stabilization. Between using
the IS and resting the lens on the Land Rover, I had virtually no shots
wasted due to camera shake. The very small, fast moving animals might
be out of focus; but most of the animals cooperated by posing nicely.
Most of the people and landscape shots on the Tamron lens were manually
focused. The A2 did a great job of exposure control.
I set the exposure manually on backlit shots and shots with subjects that
were either very light or very dark. I used a polarizing filter when
there was a significant amount of water or sky in the shot.
