Tanzanian Photo SafariFebruary - March 2002copyright Christine Shipp 2002I visited Tanzania in East Africa for two weeks with Thomson Safaris. I chose their "Walking and Wildlife" adventure which combines cultural visits, game drives, and guided hikes. It was a mind-blowing visit to another part of the world, a good dose of wildlife education, and a great vacation. The cultural visits and hikes really helped me get a sense of the people and the country outside the game parks. We saw many, many animals inside the game parks. It was a good time of year to visit--as you can see from the photos there was a lot of green in the landscape. It was mostly sunny with clouds during the day. Lightning storms passed by in the evenings. It was really hot only two days and we were rained-out one afternoon. The trip ran very smoothly and I definitely recommend Thomson Safaris. www.thomsonsafaris.com Our guide, Abu, was very knowledgable and fun. He seemed to know everyone and everything including where to stop the Land Rover to get the best photos. I've put some entries from my trip journal and a few of the 700+ photos that I took in this website. I hope you enjoy it. |
