My
1963
Falcon

RING....RING...RING... "Hello son, how are you?...I'm fine too...you bought a what? Why in hell did you buy a Station Wagon?...You're going to restore it??? You've got to be crazy!
This little senario got repeated a lot back in June of 1991. But when I saw this car, I knew no one else would have anything like it. I like unique cars, however most of them are priced way out of my league. But as the rolling restoration progressed, more and more people would compliment rather than laugh.
This car has
only had three owners. It was built in San Jose, California, and
purchased new from Walker Buerge Ford in West Los Angeles by
Millard Williams on June 6, 1963. Based on service records found
in the glove box, it remained in Los Angeles until some time in
1970 when it was sold to Bill Malott, and was used in Sacramento,
California. The registration lapsed in 1982, when the car was
stored. In 1991, I was looking for a station wagon to use to haul
supplies for work. I wanted something with V-8 power, A/C, and
something pre-1966 so that I would not have to Smog Check it. I
spotted the Squire in "Wheels and Deals" and new
instantly I had found the car I was looking for. The car went
back into daily service in July of1991, and saw about 1500 miles
a month of use until 1995, when I retired it back to hobby car
status. It now has 170,000 miles on it, and in 1998 dependably
took me to the Falcon Club of America National meet in Colorado,
a 2500 mile round trip.
