PaintOEM Paint Type
The OEM [body] paint on most 928s is (was) catalyzed Acrylic Enamel. The
bumpers also had a flex additive included in their paint mix. Several years
ago, Glasurit was the recommended paint. About two years ago, Standox was
preferred. Today, I don't really know.
I would contact a quality paint shop that routinely does German cars to find
out what they use. I believe that oil base paints are no longer being used due
to EPA environmental restrictions.
