7/22/07 - Euro928 2007 CANCELED
It is with regret that I must pass on the following information from Clyde Lennon regarding the UK event - please take note:
"Notice of Cancellation – 928 Euro 2007 (September 6th – 9th)
Regrettably, due to a lack of commitment from the wider 928 community, both from the UK and Europe, we have no choice but to cancel the event planned for September 6th through 9th 2007.
We received a flurry of early bookings and since received few responses from the wider UK 928 owners, a small number from Europe and few takers from Germany. The event was publicised on all known web sites and forums specialising in 928s across the glob, Porsche Post as well as a couple of well known UK Porsche magazines.
This unfortunately means that there will be no 30th anniversary celebration of the 928 in the UK. It also seems that the wider 928 community have made it clear they are not interested in 928 type events covering more than a single day.
My apologies to all those who were looking forward to the event and who had made their bookings. All money taken by the Porsche Club GB for the initial events booked will be refunded fully in due course.
The only meeting on the weekend is at Ragley Hall for the 9th and we will be attempting to make this a single meeting for 928 owners alongside the wider Porsche community.
On behalf of the Porsche Club of Great Britain and the event organisers (David Hemmings, Rob Burrell and Clyde Lennon).
Kind regards,
Clyde Lennon"
Thanks to Clyde and the other organizers for the valiant attempt to provide a fine time for us all. Apparently 72 bookings were needed and only 60 were received. It is shocking to me that an ambitious event such as this could not have been more fully supported especially given the very high turnout other 928 UK events have received in the past.
Is enthusiasm for the 928 waning? Get out and support your local events if in doubt.

5/22/07 - Still Alive
Hi all. Just wanted to let everyone know I am still kicking and still driving the 928. I've been wanting to redo this site for ages, but I have never managed to create enough time to do it justice in the way that I had imagined. I may turn it into a bit of a blog as the ol' 928 has become a daily driver and that generates 928 thoughts on a daily basis.
Ah, look at all the old memories below. Fun times. I still get the random e-mail from 928 folks who have stumbled onto this site and are looking to connect with other resources. Old web sites never die, they just hang around... as do some of us.
Check out Sharktoberfest.com for news on this year's (and last year's) Sharktoberfest event at 928 International. Hope to see many folks out there again come this October.

7/7/02 - Mark Anderson "coasts" to 13th at Road America
After a volunteer crew helped with myriad setup changes, unusual for the
normally "settled" 928
International race car, Mark went on to drive to a respectable 13th place
at the world class Road America facility. As Mark Anderson reported:
"During the race we were able to improve our lap times by almost 2
seconds and the front runners were slower because of different track conditions
by about 1 second so the changes we made were working well. We finished 13th
place but only by a small stroke of luck. The low fuel light came on with 2 laps
to go and by the end of the next lap the engine was cutting out on the corner
exits. We crossed the finish line while coasting and never lost a position
because of the lead we had built up over the cars behind us."
Mark Anderson continues to be a one man standard bearer, pushing his 928
through the highly competitive
Speedvision series.

6/30/02 - Mark Anderson charges to 16th at Mid-Ohio
Let's go straight to Mark Anderson:
"I had never been to this track and it is very difficult . I
expected to be slow at first but I had hoped to be able to pick up the pace by
race day. Unfortunately we only got 40 minutes of practice before the race and
it was just not enough for me to fall into the grove so I started 22 out of 25.
The good news is that I finished 16th and picked up my lap times by 1.5 seconds
during the race."
Congratulations, Mark!

6/16/02 - Virginia City Hillclimb
Congratulations to Kim John Crumb, Marc Thomas and the Devek crew on their
stellar results in this year's Virginia City Hillclimb. The White Car, in road
race trim with hill climb maestro Kim at the wheel, powered out a 5th place
finish against mega-dollar Ferrari F40 and RuF twin turbo cars. Kim clicked off
the fasted lap by any normally aspirated Porsche ever. Don Hanson gritted out a
10th place overall finish in his Devek-massaged 6.5L 928. Two 928s placing in
the top 10 at 6,000ft. altitude against the turbo cars, this is a really great
showing. Congratulations to all!
