This is my 'Starter Pac' for Adding sights

Most of these are inserts for the Dell Talk site.
Just copy and paste the code onto your post. Make any changes to the code you want.

With the newest version of Dell Talk, if you want to use graphic files (Signatures)
, you will need to upload them to 'your' web site and use the URL of the image with the "Insert an Image" button.
Just use the codes shown and 'point' to the files on your site.
There are many free web page servers for you to use for hosting a web page, and using to serve files for use in your Dell Talk posts.
If you need help in using a free web site or adding things to your posts .....
Just ask me.

There are many web sites that will allow you to learn more than I can help you with
here. (I am just a point and click kind of guy) Just do a search for; HTML, JAVA,
etc. I have listed some good sites on my "Links" page.

Please,
If you post to the Dell site,
Check out your post after you have finished it.
If there is a problem, fix it.
If you can't fix a problem, delete it.

Do not allow your posts to cause problems for other people.
( Try to keep you files small, as large files cause the page to load slowly)

Those of you that are using IE 4.x or higher you can download 'Front Page Express' for free.
With IE4.x open Click on, 'Help', then 'Product Updates'.
FPE is listed on the upgrade page that comes up.
Try it you'll like it.

First and foremost;

Have FUN

All you need to do to use these codes is,
'Copy' the code you want to use.
'Paste' the code into the post as you create it.

It's EASY

Adding a signature

Some posters like to include their system information, at the bottom of each message.
It can give your basic system information for use in answering your questions.

Use this code and just adjust it to fit your needs.
<CENTER> <FONT face=Georga color=#0033ff size=5> <B>YourName</B></FONT> <FONT face=Georga color=#000000 size=2> <B>Your system model number and CPU Speed What Windows verison you have Amount of memory Any other information you want to add And still more about your system <A href="http://www.anypage.com/" target=_blank> <FONT face=Georga color=#0033ff size=2>The link to any page here</FONT></A> Darrell's Computer help and information</FONT></A></FONT> </B> </FONT> </CENTER>
Add your signature to all your Dell messages by just clicking on the "Preferences" tab at the top of the forum page.
Click on the Forum Profile link.
Copy your edited code into the Signature box, and then Save Changes.
Every question or answer will now contain your new signature at the bottom of each message.

Scrolling Marquee

The Scroll funtion has been disabled on the latest version of the Dell site.
But you can use this code for your own web site or other html based forums.
This Only Works With Internet Explorer.

<marquee behavior="alternate" bgcolor="#00FF00" height="23" width="300" scrollamount="1" scrolldelay="1" > dbk4297web@hotmail.com </marquee> Change my e-mail address to yours.
Change the background color using the Hex numbers.
Change the numbers for different speeds/sizes.
Color Chart Here.
Here's what it will look like.

dbk4297web@hotmail.com

When you get tired of looking at the side to side marquee,
here's some other things it can do just by changing some of the code.

Using "Slide", will cause the text to Slide from the
right, and stop at the left side of the screen.
<marquee behavior="slide" bgcolor="#00FFFF" loop="1" height="23" width="500" >Your text here. </marquee> Look I can Slide right into place.

Now lets Scroll.
Using this code your text will continuously scroll from right to left.
<marquee bgcolor="#FFFFFF" height="23" width="500"> Scroll Your text here. </marquee> Leave out - (bgcolor="whatever") and you have a transparent background on your marquee, like this.

Add An Image

On the Dell site use the "Graphical Editor" screen to post.
Use the "Insert an Image" button on the top Dell taskbar.
<IMG src="http://www.yourwebsiteurl.gif" width=95 height=125 hspace=0 vspace=0 align=bottom align=left> Change the, yourwebsiteurl.gif to the url to the image on your site.
You can change .gif to .avi for AVI files.
Ajust the width and hight to match your GIF.
Have FUN.

Most of you posting to Dell Talk will want to leave out "width=?? height=??"
Let Dell Talk set the size for you.
Go ahead and use the width and height numbers if you want to change the size of you image from the default.

Bouncing Words

Dell no longer allows JAVA in posts.

<APPLET CODEBASE="http://www.dataway.ch/~bennet/java/classes/" CODE= "TextBouncer.class" WIDTH=450 HEIGHT=80> <PARAM NAME=fps VALUE=15> <PARAM NAME=numstars VALUE=50> <PARAM NAME=text VALUE="Your message here."> <PARAM NAME=textcolor VALUE="#FF0080|#0000FF"> <PARAM NAME=fontname VALUE="Helvetica"> <PARAM NAME=fontsize VALUE=24> <PARAM NAME=fontstyle VALUE=3> <PARAM NAME=starspeed VALUE=5> <PARAM NAME=textspeed VALUE=2> </APPLET>

Button to change the screen color

No longer allowed by Dell.
<FORM> <input type="button" value="Click Here" onClick="document.bgColor = 'lime'" onClick="alert('lime')"> </FORM>

You can change the color to anything including six digit hex numbers.
Hex numbers are listed as '#FFFFFF' Thats the code for white.

Also, you my want to include two buttons. The first with some neat color, and the second for the
page's normal color.
