Meeting Minutes
Date: Tuesday, 4/27/2004
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Mr. Rick's (in Avila Beach)
(Meeting primarily for Board members and coaches)
Thanks to Tifnie for taking the following minutes.
Radios
We now have 2 radios to use. They are located in the shed and they have a 9-mile range. Use the radios on a first come first serve bases, so the first two boats out MUST have radios. While in the boat, please have the power "off" to prolong the battery life.
Mike S. has typed up some simple directions for their use and posted them on the charging station in the shed.
Some items to note about the new radios:
-
Channel 16 will allow you to get a hold of Harbor Patrol for an emergency
-
Channel 9 will allow you to get a hold of another boat
-
WX is the weather channel (there are 4)
-
When you are out in the water, you will hear static - you want the static. This will allow you to send and receive messages
-
These radios do not float, but are water proof. Please use caution when using and store in the dry bags
Scora Rules
KOA is now SCORA (Southern California Outrigger Racing Association).
All racing crews MUST have matching club tops. So if you need to buy a jersey, talk to Denise about orders.
If you pick up an extra, they too must have a matching club jersey.
To Do List
-
Hugh Dohi is going to the SCORA meeting in May
-

New Mirage
It's here, and we need a name for the new Mirage - suggestions?!
The new Mirage boat number is 156. The blessing ceremony took place on Sunday, May 2nd, just before Jeff's crew took the boat out on its maiden voyage
Kids Program
Jeff Blauer is going to charge $100 p/kid and this fee will be either applied towards employees that he will need to hire (i.e. life guards or coaches) or go back into the "kid fund"
