Meeting Minutes
Date: Tuesday, 3/15/2005
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Location: Avila Beach Yacht Club

Dues, Waivers, Driver's Licenses
All members were required to pay their dues, sign waivers, and those over 35 handed in copies of their driver's licenses to Tifnie LaCabe. Waivers must be signed before you can paddle in a canoe.

Rules
Each boat must have a bag containing a radio, and a safety kit which includes flares and rope.
Charlotte will buy 25 flares and equip each bag with 2 flares.
Jeff emphasised the importance of checking conditions to make they are safe, making sure your boat has a bag with radios and safety kit, and that at least two boats go out at a time and stick together. All coaches should review the huli drill with their crews. If you huli in the surf, get away from the canoe. Seat one counts heads, seats two and four reach over to right the canoe. Point the canoe into the waves after you right it to help prevent it from getting swamped.

Jeff would like everyone to know how to rig so that we can get rigging done quickly before races.
