As part of provisioning and modifying Rage for the 2000 Pacific Cup,
Suncor MicroStarä LED lights were installed above and below decks.

For ease of retro-fit, MicroStarsä were installed in existing dome lights and provided
with their own switches.The lights were angled outboard and provide reflected light
off the hull in the berths.

MicroStars ä were also installed in Loc-Lineâ articulating plastic hose assemblies
and some as pictured above, had light diffusing caps installed.

Installed in Loc-Lineâ  and secured to a shroud 5' above the deck,
the MicroStarä can be aimed anywhere on the deck or up into
the rigging or sails. (compare relative brightness to full moon above
and to the right of the MicroStarä)

Note: After Rage sucessfully took first in division and third over all in the 2000 Pac Cup,
Bruce Schwab, co-skipper of Rage, dropped us this note:

"I'm back from the Pacific Cup Race to Hawaii and wanted to drop you a big THANK YOU!
  The "Microstar" LED lights we installed aboard "Rage" were a tremendous success.
  I'm not exaggerating to say the their extremely low power drain and perfect level of brightness
  played a role in our class victory.  The "Microstar" lights are a great product and I am now convinced
  I want them in our new Wylie designed "Open 60".  Efficient, high quality lighting is often overlooked
  on ocean cruising and racing yachts and I wouldn't build a boat without the "Microstars".  Adding them
  to Rage was a fantastic idea.
