Holy Communion

Lutherans believe that God's Word, the Holy Scriptures, is the inerrant and inspired Word of God. It is the ONLY source and norm for faith and Christian living. The Lutheran Church teaches that our Lord Jesus Christ paid for the sins of all people by His sacrifice unto death on the cross. We further teach the "REAL PRESENCE," that the true body and blood of Christ are present in the Supper of our Lord in, with, and under the bread and wine and are there distributed and received through faith, thereby bestowing all of the blessings and benefits of the atonement. We also confess and believe that the Lord's Supper:

  • offers and conveys forgiveness of sins
  • strengthens faith and imparts power for Christian living
  • establishes the unity of the body of Christ, the Christian Church on earth
  • is an act of thankful adoration for the blessings of Christ's suffering.

We believe that we are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ, who lived, died, and rose again to give us forgiveness of sins and eternal life.  In the Lord's Supper, we believe that we receive the very body and blood of Jesus when we receive the bread and wine.  How God does this is a mystery.  If you are a baptized Christian and have this same faith, you are welcome to commune with us.
