LWML is the Lutheran Women's Missionary League; it is an organization of women within the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod whose primary purpose is to support mission work locally,
nationally, and internationally. Mission Statement
The mission of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League is to assist each woman of the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship
with the triune God so that she may use her gifts in ministry to the people of God.
Who may belong to LWML?
All women who are members of the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod are automatically members of the
LWML. Within a local congregation such as Holy Cross, women choose to become active members, attending monthly meetings, or inactive members.
What does the LWML do?
The LWML raises funds in a variety of
ways to support local, national, and international missions. The LWML is also active in supporting the local congregation. Here at Holy Cross, the LWML maintains an active Altar Guild, collects food and clothing for
those in need, maintains a working prayer chain, and is always ready to meet whatever needs arise within the congregation if it is within their power to do so.
At Holy Cross Lutheran Church, the LWML meets every
second Monday, at 7:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
