Aug 24 Demo

Don is making adjustments to the music playing.  I took Jonathan's chair so he's standing.  Jason is in the sweet spot.  John Koval and Dave Crawford drove 8 hours to get here from So. California.  They slept downstairs in the TV room. Siegfried Linkwitz is observing by the dining room - the house of mirrors...

There were 20 of us at the demo.

Isao has his turn in the sweet spot.  A new HiFi_Dsp list member.   Alan Fowler, next to him, has Accuton Diamond tweeters in his possession and IN his system.  I believe he is a local rep. for them.  A few of us would LOVE to hear those tweeters!

Whoops, they've all been driven from the sweet spot OR it's someone else's turn...  Eric and Charles are perhaps talking about their vinyl collection with John Koval...  Eric really liked John's little speakers he heard at the So. Ca. Basslist gathering.  George, seated to the left in green had listened to the Orion system at Siegfried's the previous week.  George came from Sacramento.  You can see Siegfried's analog active crossover next to George.  Unfortunately, Siegfried forgot to bring the 24dB/oct crossover for the dipole woofer.  This is the standard Phoenix active crossover with 12dB/octave at 100Hz. and was intended for use with Scan-Speak drivers - NOT the SEAS drivers.

The sun seeking crowd.  Siegfried is moving out of the way so the young guys can be seen.  Matt Yates came from Oakland with his friend Jason on the far right.  Jason was really into the SW and digital filters.  Dave Crawford came from Southern California as you can see by the shorts.  Up here in Northern California, it is many times too cool for shorts...

Don's getting some important info from Siegfried.  Alan Fowler is the "thinker".

Ah, I wondered where that last brownie went!  Don Green, who helped make my original prototypes, is back by the goodies.  He's heard the system several times but not with the new Winged Panels.  Barry Waldron took some of these pictures - obviously not this one. Patricia, my partner, is having a spot of tea...

Steve Houlihan, wood builder supreme and designer of the Winged Phoenix, is enjoying the view of the mountains from the room of mirrors.  The dining room has mirrors on 4 of its 8 walls.  It is so confusing that one person was talking to the mirror until he noticed the person was next to him in a different spot.

The kitchen design session.  From left to right, Don, John Koval, Dave Crawford, George, and Siegfried Linkwitz.  Wonder who's been having wine?
