In September I competed in my first Open Road Race. The Pony Express II is hosted by CARS and is run on an 84 mile desolate stretch of road in the middle of nowhere out in the Nevada mountains. The idea in all but the unlimited class is to reach your target speed as an average for the 84 mile course. My navigator Mike Morgan helped get us within .05mph of our intended 130mph target speed which only took 4th place in that class (Results). In every other class that delta to speed would have captured a trophy, but we picked the wrong class. I was extremely happy with our results and how cruising for more than 30 minutes at speeds up to 160mph was like a Sunday drive in the country for the Corvette. The C4 Corvette is truly an awesome and world class sports car.
