1989 IROC - Modifications List
I special ordered this car and took delivery in June of '89. I had read about the new dual cat option in Car Craft and just had to have one!! Following are some of the key options on this car: stripe delete, G92 Performance Axle, G80 posi, J65 4-whl disc brakes, KC4 oil cooler, N96 16" alum wheels, 245-50ZR-16 tires, PEG 3 (fully loaded), LB9 5.0L TPI engine, MM5 5-spd BW T-5 trans. In 1989 a total of 1426 cars were built with the G92 option, including the 111 1LE cars. This is only 7% of the IROC coupes built in 1989, so it's quite rare. The G92 was the basis for the 1LE showroom stock racing car that added bigger front disc brakes and a few other race inspired options to the IROC. I always reffered to my car as a 1LE with AC. Since it is a rare car I have all of the required parts to put it back to stock including the dual cat exhaust and the "Aussie" Borg Warner 9-bolt 3.45 geared rear end.
