If you are a workers' compensation patient,
and you are NOT permanent and stationary you should be seen every 45 days
by your primary treating physician; in some cases, a patient may been seen
every 90 days, with a telephone consultation/checkup in between
appointments. The 45 day time frame is determined by the Industrial
Medical Council, a State of California agency.
Permanent and stationary patients may be seen once every 90 days if there
is no significant change in the condition. |
| Pain management patient, no change in
condition |
|
Pain management patient, no change in
condition (headache, migraine, back pain, spine disease, etc.)
If you are receiving pain medication and your condition is NOT changing,
you need to be seen at least every 90 days to continue receiving
medication. You are always welcome to return for an appointment sooner,
should any questions or issues arise. |
| Pain management patient, condition is
changing |
|
If you are receiving pain medication and
your condition is changing, you need to be seen more frequently.
Appointments should be scheduled for at least every 30 days until your
condition stabilizes. Once a medication regimen is found and we are not
making changes in your treatment program, you can wait longer between
appointments if desired, up to 90 days between appointments. |
| Neurology patient (stroke, seizure,
Parkinsons, Alzheimers, etc.) |
|
If you are a neurology patient, the time
between appointments should be individualized to your condition. Some
conditions require monthly visits, and others require yearly visits, and
everything in between. |
