The MAO Excel Add-In allows you to build and manipulate table and chart views of Analysis Services cubes directly within Microsoft Excel! The MAO Excel Add-In is simple to use, and has a clean uncluttered user interface - yet still offers these advanced features:

• Any number of cubes can be open simultaneously.
• Full drill, pivot, sort, filter and rank functionality.
• Add / edit calculated members on the fly.
• Results can be displayed as tables, charts or both.
• Drill through any value to the underlying data.
• Change any value to perform what-if analysis. Changed values automatically allocate to underlying values based on either equal or weighed distribution, ensuring consistent results. Changes made to the underlying cube can be discarded at the end of the session, or written back to the underlying cube.
• Queries can be saved to disk, and reopened from the MAO Cube Explorer, the MAO Excel Add-In, or any other application built using the MAO components.
• Individual cube tables can be formatted for colors and fonts, as well as whether to display the filter axis and raw or formatted values.
• Drilling or pivoting will never overwrite existing values or other tables already in your workbook
• The user will be warned if a drill operation would produce a result set larger than a configurable limit - this prevents users from firing off that million cell query accidentally
• What-if analysis automatically triggers recalculation of all cube tables in the workbook linked to the same cube.
• New cube tables can be built using drag and drop directly within the Excel Add-In, by copying and modifying an existing query, or by opening a cube table that has been saved to disk
