Saving Websites
When you're surfing those tens of millions of webpages, you'll frequently find
something you'd like to keep around. To save the site (actually the address, the
URL of the site), press Save on the keyboard (or press Options,
then Save on the keyboard or remote), choose a folder, click Save Page.
Using Favorites
To access a Fav, hit Favs on the keyboard, select the proper folder, and
click on the Fav.
Folders
If you don't set up and name folders, you'll have one single default folder called
Personal. Each folder can hold up to 32 Favs, and you can have up to 20 folders,
for a total of 640 Favs per user (and with 6 users, that's a total of 3,840 sites).
To create, rename, or delete Folders, hit the Favs key on the keyboard.
Within folders, by selecting Organize on the sidebar, you can rename
or delete individual Favs, and you can also move Favs from one folder to another.
The "F" Keys
You can assign up to 7 Favs as "shortcuts" on the F1 through F7
keys on the IR keyboard, by selecting Shortcut Keys in Organize,
within a folder. You can also view a list of Shortcut keys from there.
Changing Sites
Since you're only saving the location of the site on the Internet, and
not the site itself, if the site is changed or deleted, your Fav will either give
you the new version of the site or won't work at all (giving you a "publisher
can't find the page" message). If you've visited a site very recently, remember
to click Cmd-R to reload the page, and see it's most recent version.
Renaming Folders
There's presently no way to rename a folder; if you really need to do this, you'll
have to create a new, empty folder with the name you want, then enter the "old"
folder, and move all the Favs from there into the new one. If you already have
20 folders, this is obviously a problem, so think carefully when you create folders
so you don't have to change them later, and consider never having more than 19
folders you want to keep at a time.
Moving Favs to Another User Account
There's no quick way to move Favs to another account. The only method is to enter
the current user's Favs, click each one, and Send each as an e-mail link
to the other user. Then you'll need to switch users, click each message, click
each link in each message, and Save the page to that user's Favs.
