16 Buddy Pairs of "Factory Seconds" Optima YT’s. Purchased Sept 1996 and put into service April 1999. Some of the 32 batteries had a seal leak problem around the negative terminal. As of this writing, 4 batteries have been replaced due to failure. The first was at cycle #272 (5,085mi), the second at cycle #306 (5,600mi), and the third and fourth at cycle #382 (6,900mi). Remaining batteries now have 8,200mi. Note the seasonal effect on vehicle efficiency.
