Brushing - It's one of the most important parts. If you don't keep my beard and furnishings brushed out I will develop mats. That's tangles to you non-mini owners. Get yourself a slicker brush and brush me at least every other day. I will be happy and so will you.
Clipping - I you decide to not hand strip me (which is normally done for dog shows) I will need to be clippered at least every 2 months. Every month would keep me looking perfect.
Nails - Keep my nails short. I don't tend to wear them down especially if I don't spend all my time on cement. I don't like you to cut them but It has to be done. Otherwise I can develop foot problems and then I will start licking them and ruin all of the time you spent keeping my furnishings brushed and clean.
Bathing - I normally don't have a doggy odor like most breeds. But I do need regular baths. Once a month should do it. More than that and I could develop dry skin and start scratching. It would bug you and especially me.
Ears - Keep the hair out of my ears and then I won't develop infections. Have the hair pulled out when you have me clipped.
Teeth - I need regular cleaning just like you. Normally my dog food will help clean my teeth so just keep an eye on them and get them cleaned when they appear dirty. Then I will have them when I get older.
That's about it. Just follow these directions and I'll be a happy camper forever. Also don't forget to get my shots.
