The 31st Infantry in Pre-War Manila
The picture above is of the 31st Infantry marching out of Puerta Real in the Wall City (Intramurros) of Manila, around 1938. Approximately three years after this picture was taken, the 31st, would be in Bataan.
On the base of the O'Donnell Cross, the inscription reads, "Omnia Pro Patria": All for Country, which is the motto of the 31st Infantry.
