The Picture above is of Capt. Ishikawa, nicknamed "The Bull of the Woods". He was the second in command in Camp Hoten, in Mukden, Manchuria. The Bull was well-known to most POWs who were interned in Camp Hoten, because he was the one who administered the beatings to the American POWs.
This picture was sent to us by two people: Hal Leith, a former OSS agent, who parachuted into Mukden and freed the American POWs, when the Russians were enchroaching, and by James Brown, a former POW, in Camp Hoten.

"Prisoners of the Japanese" is one of the few books we recommend to the high school and college student who write to us for information. Also, it is one of the few books which meet our strict standards for the truth about Bataan and the WW II POW experience.
