The Sonoma County Children's
Music Vocal Program consists of a Voice class, Vocal Ensemble,
our Summer Musical Theatre Camp, and private lessons.
Our Voice Class
offer specialized training in note reading, vocal technique,
and ensemble singing. Students work on breathing and vocal
exercises to develop vocal strength, accuracy of pitch, and
range. They develop ensemble skills through singing games,
rounds, call and response, and the development of repertoire.
While the voice is the
primary instrument for our students, they also develop skills
that are transferable to other areas of music study. Note
reading is essential to learning a musical instrument, as
is developing good rhythm, pitch, and the passion for making
music. We give children a solid foundation in the elements
of music while nurturing their love of singing in a fun and
supportive atmosphere. Students receive a vocal exercise book,
binder with sheet music & piano accompaniment.
