uring
the eighties and early nineties Mike Stengl worked as a cartoonist and
illustrator for both local and national newspapers and magazines
including: Easy Riders, Sonoma County’s The Paper, Comic Relief, Culture
Concrete, Plazm Magazine, Emergency Horse and The Steelehead Special among
others. Turning toward the human figure he joined Hobart Brown’s
“stable of artists” in 1997 and has been an irregular contributor to
Arts Alive and Arts Arcata over the years. Currently working on a series
of abstract cityscapes inspired by a recent trip to Mexico Mike is also
available for commissioned portraits. |
