I have quite a bit of info about Charles, his father Jeremiah and some on Mahala and Charles' brother John; there is a lot of data and a bit of speculation. You can see Charles' family here.

    I don't have much info on Nancy but I do have a lot on her family. You can see Nancy's family here.

    Nancy's and Charles family includes Mary Alice Gard. Mary Alice's family is here.

Charles Gard	Nancy Gard	Mahala Gard

The above shows Charles Gard in a very natty wool suit and no, he isn't cross-eyed! He is looking to his left. The photo is a carte-visite from the late 1860s. Nancy's pic is a cabinet photo from somewhat later and looking pretty good. The photo of Mahala is from Robbie's collection and, if I recall correctly, is also a carte-visite from the late 1860s. Unfortunately, I know of no photos of Jeremiah.
