    The first of the below info  was kindly sent to me by Gail from CalGenWeb; I'm sure y'all know how to find said location..  She looked up San Joaquin Co. info for me and typed it into e-mail messages.  There may be a typo or two which should be overlooked because of the effort it saved all of us.  Here it is:

The below is from Merced Co.  The Wm. Webb from Snelling is probably not the one documented on the Mariposa Co. Genforum because of his involvement in Webb's Station;  That Wm. Webb is directly from England and not one of mine.  This one seems to be b. Ala. abt. 1857 making it unlikely [but not impossible]  he is closely connected.
