FAHCE:
The District is involved in several projects. One very well known project is the Santa Clara County Fisheries and Aquatic Habitat Collaborative Effort (FAHCE) that include participants such as the Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD), California Department of Fish & Game (CDFG), Natural Heritage Institute, on behalf of the GCRCD, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and the City of San Jose. This program was launched by both the CDFG and SCVWD to address cumulative impacts on salmon and steelhead and their habitats within the Guadalupe River, Coyote Creek and Stevens Creek. Annually, all participants get regular progress updates, or "Annual Reports." Project organization is conducted through the use of a Consensus Committee and Technical Advisory Committee.

LOWER SILVER CREEK:
The GCRCD is co-sponsoring the Lower Silver Creek Watershed Project with the Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) and the United States Department of Agriculture/Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA/NRCS). The project consists of 19 reaches stretching from the confluence of Coyote Creek and Lower Silver Creek west of US 101 to Lake Cunningham in East San Jose. This project is an effort to restore the channelized creek to it's natural state with native plant species and apply sound fluvial geomorphology.
