I always admired the Ducati single-cylinder engine but thought the styling of most models was a little clunky. So, I created this "Special" out of a collection of many different, mostly Ducati, parts, to look the way I thought one should look. The engine is a 1971 "R/T" 450 Desmo; the frame is from a Mototrans "Vento" (Mototrans was a Spanish company that made Ducati copies under license.); the tank is from a 250 "Diana"; the seat and tail-light are from a 750SS; the forks are Ducati and the front brake is a magnesium Ceriani 4LS unit. The magazine OLD BIKE JOURNAL featured this bike in a cover-story, "The Desmo Ducati Never Built", in their October, 1998 issue (#101). It was also featured in the August, 1997 issue of CLASSIC & MOTORCYCLE MECHANICS as "Ducati Gold Rush". I would consider selling this bike, but it won't be cheap.
