Summer 2007

To:  All Incoming 9th Grade English Honors Students & Parents/Guardians

Re:  Summer Reading

Greetings!  We hope you are excited about entering Katella High School’s English Honors Program next fall.  We are ready and waiting for you!  To get a “jump start,” you may want to check out some Summer Reading Lists.

The Lists with the red triangles beside them are most highly recommended for college-bound honors students.

You want to look for your summer reading books at your local public library, a used-bookstore, or even at a regular bookstore, if you are fortunate enough to buy a delicious, new book.

On a more serious note, you will need to have a strong work ethic to be in the honors program, to prepare for college requirements like the SAT I & II, and to pass the A.P. exams.  Your commitment is a major part of reaching these common goals.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school (714-999-3621) before June 21.  Leave your question(s) and phone number so that we may return your call.  Have fun reading (and be ready to write about it!)  We are looking forward to meeting each one of you in the fall!

Sincerely,

Katella H S English Honors & Advanced Placement Teachers
