could be no Golden Trout of any kind left in the world today.

Although the recovery of the Golden Trout is a fabulous success story, recent developments have necessitated that further work be done to continue to ensure that pure populations of Golden Trout thrive. Two of the barriers built in the 1960's, which keep populations of non native trout from invading the heart of the Volcano Creek Golden Trout habitat, have degraded and other fish are once again able to invade the waters of the Golden Trout. Plans are underway right now to fix the barriers, but work is stalled, and funding is scarce. Recovery of the Golden Trout can be completed once and for all, but it needs help from all of us. The Golden Trout Recovery Program needs funding and volunteers to complete these new barriers. If you or your organization would like to help finish this valuable project, or would just like to know more about the program, please contact the Golden Trout Fund and we will help you get involved.
