Part VII: Burney to Chester: 93 miles, half of it on dirt roads, the highlight is the ride through Lassen Volcanic National Park

There are only limited services on the route of this segment: the shops at the South and North entrance to Lassen Volcanic National Park. Also note that there is $10 fee (at the time of writing) for cyclist to enter the national park. From Burney, you continue through town on Hwy 299 / Main St and make a left into into Tamarack Rd (not to be confused with Tamarack Ave)
You pass the extinct volcanos Burney Mountain and Crater Peak. You gain 3000 feet (1000 m) over 20 miles (32 km). Eventually you reach Hwy 44/89 and turn right. After a fee miles you reach the left turn which leads you to the entrance of Lassen Volcanic National Park
