When buying our first house in Southern California, my husband and I looked at over 100 properties. Then I went out and looked at another 200! I learned that home buying is emotional as well as practical. Given houses in basically the same location and similarly priced, what made one stand out above the rest? Design, taste, space, lighting, color and being able to project myself into living day-to-day there.
One of my greatest influences was the three-month sabbatical my husband, myself and our beloved Afghan Hound enjoyed on Pawleys Island off the coast of South Carolina in 1996. Here are a couple of beach shots featuring our faithful companion -- Ladies and gentlemen, it's . . . the wonder dog, Lulu.
