Last Thursday (May 4), I was on my way to Fresno Air Terminal to pick up my  fiancee. I got up to the usual turnoff from US99 (North)...and continued  straight ahead into Fresno itself! Pamela has flown into Fresno on two other occasions, so I knew how to   get to the airport. But this time I kept my eyes open for the airplane symbol  adjacent to the Clovis Street turn... ...it wasn't there!! Needless to say, I was late getting there, and she was   understandably upset. When she left on Sunday (the 7th) the sign was still missing.  Now, that sign has always been a solid landmark for people who use that   airport. Whether it was blown down by natural forces or vandalized by college   kids (a stop sign was taken from an in-tersection with devastating results   years ago), it creates a dilemma for the common traveler. Is Cal-Trans aware of this? Has the department overlooked it, or has anyone  else notified them? I know, now, what exit to take to get to the airport, but it still helps to have that marker there.
