Oppose the Witch Hunt Against President Clinton

The Republicans and the media are conducting a blood-thirsty, unprecedented and unjustified campaign to destroy Bill Clinton -- the most successful president this country has had since FDR, as well as our last elected president.

After an an eight-year-long, futile attempt to nail him -- to the tune of $80 million! -- the Republicans are now continuing their character assassination of Bill Clinton. Their latest target is the Marc Rich pardon, something that President Clinton had every constitutional right to do, and that was prompted by his desire to help the peace process in the Middle East.

Dan Burton, a conservative Republican congressman from Indiana, is leading the witch hunt against Bill Clinton, as he has for many years. Let him and the world know you had enough!

Here's what you can do to help:

1. Donate to the Clinton Library: Preserve the Legacy

Show your support for President Clinton by sending a donation to the William J. Clinton Presidential Foundation:

P.O. Box 3587
LIttle Rock, Arakansas, 72203

Through this action you will help preserve the extraordinary legacy of the Clinton presidency; show your support for our last elected president and opposition to the open warfare waged against him; and let his opponents know about how you feel.

2. Send a Copy of Your Letter to Dan Burton

Congressman Dan Burton
2185 Rayburn HOB
Washington, DC 20515
FAX: 202-225-0016

He's hounded Bill Clinton for years. It's your turn to tell him his campaign is backfiring. Send him a copy of the check you wrote to the Clinton Library and tell him his witch hunt is helping raise money to keep the legacy of Bill Clinton alive.

3. Let Everyone Else Know About It

Tell your representatives to do all they can to stop this vicious campaign and waste of taxpayers' money.

Write a letter to the editor of your local paper and/or major national newspapers and magazines (contact information below) telling them about the donation. Let them know you support Bill Clinton and don't want to hear another word about the pardons -- certainly not until they first investigate the pardons issued by Presidents Ford and Bush.

For more information on the pardon issue, see President Clinton's letter to the New York Times and these two good articles on the subject, from the Washington Post and Consortium News.
